Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He was awarded the Medal of Honor under the name of Thomas W. Stevers. He served as a Private in the US Army in Company D, 7th US Calvary. His award was for action on June 25 and 26, 1876 at the Little Big Horn, Montana. His citation reads "Voluntarily brought water to the wounded under fire."
