Moses, the son of Edward L. Tabor and Macell Tabor of Crossville TN, a Marine Veteran of sixteen years of service reenlisted in the US Marine Corps on December 6, 1961 in Camp LeJeune NC. He arrived in Vietnam assigned to Company D, 1st Battalion, 3d Marines, 3d MARDIV (Rein) FMF.

While crossing the Cu De River near the Nam O Bridge an amphibious tractor lost power, and was taken under tow by another LVT. During the rescue operation the tow line broke and the crippled LVT B-36 sank in the swift moving river. All on board drowned, including SSgt Tabor who had been a passenger, his remains were recovered and identified on December 21, 1965.
