Born in Greenville, he was the husband for fifty-four years of Alma Jean Dove Headen and the son of the late Lizzie Lee and Jake Headen. Mr. Headen was an avid, lifelong racecar driver.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Ann Rutledge, Greenville, and Kathy Hendrix (Kenneth), Greer; two sons, Jake Headen and Timmy Headen, Greenville; three grandchildren, Jennifer Bobo, Ken Hendrix, and Katie Lemmons; and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Frankie Headen.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 3, 2011, at 1:30 PM in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral, Northwest. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00-1:15PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
