BOY, 5, KILLED IN FALL FROM BARN

James Lee Burns, five-year-old son of Edwin and Nelle Manock Burns of near Elmwood, died at 9:30 p. m. Saturday at the Proctor hospital, where he was taken s few hours previously after suffering a fractured skull and other injuries in a fall in the barn at his home. The family resides on the Eldon McKown farm two miles north of Elmwood on route 78.
Funeral services were held at Patterson funeral home in Elmwood Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Lee Smith of Princeville, assisted by Rev. Donald Meisenheimer of Elmwood. Interment was in the Elmwood cemetery. Four boys were pallbearers, Clifford Miles, Ray Livingston, Russell Korth and Lester Hutson.
James Lee was born Sept. 21, 1940 at Princeville. He is survived by his parents, two brothers, Jack Forest, 3, and Jerry Wayne, 4 months, his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lavada Manock of Elmwood, and paternal grandparents Mrs. F. W. Burns of Monica.
On Easter Sunday, April 13, 1941, he was baptized by Rev. Smith at the Presbyterian church of Princeville. Later the family moved near Elmwood.
