EAST BOW WOMAN IS BURIED HERE MONDAY
MRS. MATT DREESEN DIES SUDDENLY FRIDAY OF HEART ATTACK

Three sons, a daughter and a husband are left to mourn the sad death of Mrs. Matt Dreesen who died suddenly from a heart attack Friday afternoon at her home in East Bow.

Mrs. Dreesen was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Suing, pioneer settlers, and served as one of the early teachers in the county before her marriage. She was a life-long resident of the county, living in the northern part continuously since her birth at St. Helena 63 years ago.

Mrs. Dreesen, formerly Maude Josephine Suing, was born on June 17, 1868, at St. Helena, one member of a family of nine brothers and sisters. Prior to her marriage on September 19, 1893, she taught school for five years. In March, 1892, she came to Hartington with her parents and sister, Anna, and brother, A. F. who were retiring to town. After her marriage in the following year she went with her husband to live in the East Bow community on the old Dreesen farm. A woman of outstanding character and personality, she was an active worker in her community and an ardent church member.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Tony Dendinger of East Bow, and three sons, Frederick of East Bow, Elmo of Hartington and Ottis at home. Her four surviving brothers are H. B. Suing of Careywood, Idaho; J. A. Suing of St. Helena. F. J. Suing of Fordyce and A. F. Suing of Hartington. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. J. J. Becker of Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs. F. M. Goeden of Eugene, Oregon.

Funeral services were held at Holy Trinity church in Hartington Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Fr. J. T. Bernauer presided over the funeral rites and interment services at the grave in St. Michael's cemetery.

Out-of-town relatives at the funeral included a niece and nephew, Mrs. Gerald Mathers of Sioux City and R. E. Becker of Sioux City.
