Brittie met and married Victor L. Yaw, September 24, 1934. They lived in Michigan until their move to Mojave in 1960. Victor preceded her in death, passing January 8, 1993. They were married for 59 years.
Brittie loved people, children and her home. She always had children around her, both her own children and grandchildren or the numerous children she babysat. She enjoyed gardening. Gorgeous roses adorned her yard.
Brittie is survived by six of her seven children. Her son, Victor L. Yaw preceded her in death. Her surviving children are Patricia Seaman of Tehachapi, CA, LaTricia Sare of Battle Creek, MI, Charles Yaw of Prescott, AZ, Frank Yaw, now living in Battle Creek, MI, Marcia Nelson of Grass Valley, CA, and Victor M. Yaw of Mojave, CA. She leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-granchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will be held on September 16, 2011 at East Kern Cemetery in Mojave at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of her life will follow in Tehachapi at the home of daughter Patricia Seaman. For more information,
