Charles Bivans 82, of Belle Valley, died Monday at 11:55 p.m. at a Cambridge hospital following a long illness. He was born Aug. 26, 1876 in Morgan county, the son of F. P. and Mary Rosser Bivans. He spent most of his life in Zanesville, moving to Belle Valley five years ago. He was a car inspector for the Pennsylvania Railroad and a member of the Moxahala Lodge 144, IOOF, of Zanesville. Surviving are his widow, the former Mary James, of Hiramsburg; a number of nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the McVay funeral home at Caldwell where services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock with Rev. Ira J. Brandon officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, Zanesville. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
