The body of Rev. Louis Ratajczak, 69, a former South Bend resident who died at 1:30 a.m. today in St. John's Hospital, Huron, S.D., after a lengthy illness, will be brought to St. Joseph Funeral Home, where friends may call after 5 p.m. Saturday until 3:30 p.m. Monday. Then the body will be taken to St. Adalbert's Catholic Church to lie in state from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Adaalbert's with Rev. John Moskal, pastor, officiating.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum.
Father Ratajczak attended St. Hedwig's School in South Bend and entered the seminary at Orchard Lake, Pontiac, Mich. 1911. He was born in South Bend on July 3, 1895. He celebrated his first mass at St. Adalbert's Church in 1923, after being ordained here that year. His first appointment was as an assistant at St. Stanislaus parish in East Chicago. He also served in St. Hedwig's Church in Gary and St. John Cantius parish in East Chicago. On July 6, 1933, he was given the pastorate of Holy Rosary Church, Gary, from which he was forced to retire in 1941 because of poor health.
He is survied by a brother, Michael Ratacjzak of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Casimir Ratajczak of Chicago, and a sister, Mrs. Victoria Pierson of South Bend.

will be the Rev. Louis Zenz, pastor of St. Paul of the Cross Church, Columbia City. The Rev. Elden J. Miller, assistant pastor of St. Joseph Church, Mishawaka, will officiate as master of ceremonies and the cantor for the mass will be the Rev. Robert Dombrowski, assistant pastor of St. Matthew's Co-Cathedral of South Bend. The eulogy will be given by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Stanley Zjawinski, vicar general of the Gary Diocese.
Pallbearers will be Gene Ferdinand, Peter Ratajczak, Al Ray, Raymond and Donald Pierson. Entombment will
