Vella was the daughter of James & Mary Evelyn Wood Stoner and the sister of Morton, Ella, Fay Board, Roy Arthur, Merle Lydia, Ralph and Mae Stoner.

She married Clarence Brenner, the son of Samuel & Lucinda VanSkyock Brenner, on March 11, 1918, in Newport, Kentucky. The couple settled in Muncie, Indiana and were the parents of Madeline Rose, Oral and Evelyn June Brenner. Mrs. Brenner passed away from the effects of acute peritonitis.

Mrs. Vella Brenner Dies at Ball Hospital.

Mrs. Vella Brenner of 146 Hoyt avenue, died at 2 o'clock yesterday morning at Ball Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Brenner had been a Muncie resident for 21 years. She was a member of the Golden Star Prayer Band and was employed at the Feeny Manufacturing Company here until her recent illness.

Surviving is the husband, Clarence; two daughters, Mrs. Madeline Curtis and Mrs. Evelyn Pettit, both of Muncie; a son, Oral Brenner, of Muncie; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Rosinski and Mrs. Merle Tucker, both of Muncie, a brother, Ralph Stoner, of Muncie, and a half-brother, Walter Stoner, of Muncie. The body was taken to the Parson funeral home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Services for Vella Brenner, 44, wife of Clarence Brenner, 146 Hoyt Ave., who died Sunday at Ball Memorial Hospital, were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Parson mortuary, the Rev. James Cook in charge. Interment was in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
