Esther Muilenburg, 73, Orange City, died Thursday, July 19, 1990 at the Heritage House Nursing Home after a long illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the First Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Henry Poppen officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery at Orange City under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.

Mrs. Muilenburg was born January 3, 1917 at George, Iowa, the daughter of Otto and Hattie Douma De Jong. On January 5, 1938 she married Marion Muilenburg at Orange City. the couple farmed west of Orange City until moving into Orange City in 1967. Mr. Muilenburg died October 5, 1989 at Orange City.

Mrs. Muilenburg had been a resident of the Heritage House since May, 1989. She was a member of the First Reformed Church.

Survivors include five children: Clifford and his wife Patricia of Littleton, Colo., Ladonna and her husband Dennis Van Meeteren of Sheldon, Marvin and his wife Francine of Orange City, Larry and his wife Lynn of Littleton, and Brenda and her husband Harold Mulder of Orange City; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tom O. De Jong of Alton and Gerald De Jong of Orange City; and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Aberson of Orange City and Mrs. Bety Lou Alberts of Chilleral, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
