Obituary:

Lewis S. Smith dead

W. L. Smith and Dr. F. W. Smith arrived in Omaha too late

Deceased had been for forty years superintendent of Tanneries at Lisle--leaves eight children

Lewis S. Smith of this city died in Omaha, Neb., this morning at 8:15 o'clock, after his son, W. L. Smith, and son-in-law, Dr. F. W. Smith, had reached the hotel, but before they could reach his bedside. Mr. Smith went to Seattle with his son, Lyman C. Smith, and was taken ill at Colorado Springs, on his way home. He was taken on to Omaha, as the altitude of Colorado proved detrimental to his health. Doctor Smith and W. L. Smith were sent for, but too late, and he died this morning. Lyman C. Smith and a physician from Colorado Springs were with him. The remains will arrive in Syracuse on Friday evening. Burial will be at Oakwood.
