James ROBISON was born in Mount Thom, Pictou County, Nova Scotia on 1862-12-08. He was the 13. child of Thomas James ROBISON Jr. (1816-06-10) and Mary ROBERTSON (1816-09-13). He had five brothers (Thomas ROBISON Jr. (1844-12-13), John ROBISON (1848-03-20), William ROBISON (1851-06-25), Richard ROBINSON (1855-04-02), Jonathan ROBISON (1859-01-02)) and seven sisters (Mary Ann "May" ROBISON (1841-08-29), Sarah ROBISON (1843-05-18), Jane ROBISON (1846-09-16), Nancy ROBISON (1848-03-20), Ellen "Eleanor" ROBINSON (1853-03-05), Margaret Elizabeth ROBISON (1858-01-24), Louise ROBISON (1861-11-05)).

When he was 39 years old, his mother Mary ROBERTSON died (1901-12-16). When he was 43 years old, his father Thomas James ROBISON Jr. died (1906-12-04).

On 1906-10-02, he married Agnes D. HAYDEN (1888-09-12) in River John, Pictou, Nova Scotia. His partner was Annie Florence HEIGHTON (1896-04-26). He was 43 years old when he married Agnes D. HAYDEN, who was 18 years old at that time. He had ten children with Agnes D.
