ICKES - Clarence E., 63, 304 Freeman Drive, died January 19, 1990, at Memorial Hospital. Born July 4, 1926, in Summerhill, son of late Elmer and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Ickes.

Survived by wife, former Marga Jessen, and these children: Alicia, wife of Ron Kush, Ebensburg; Barbara, wife of Norman Yonko, Johnstown; Robert, Olympia, Washington; Bryan, married to former Margaret Holbay, Watsontown; and Alan, Richmond, Virginia; also grandchildren: Justine, Ronald, Brandye, Michael and Sherri. Brother of Leah Haman and Evelyn Ickes, both of Johnstown; the Rev. Leroy, Portsmouth, Ohio; and Stanton, Worthington, Ohio.

United States Navy Veteran of World War II and Korea. Employed at Schrader's Flower Shop and Greenhouse. Member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and actively involved as coordinator of the Men's Prayer Breakfast.

Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at The Harris Funeral Home, Scalp Level, Richland. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, the Rev. Ray Streets. Interment, Pringle Hill Cemetery. Family suggests donations to deacons fund in care of Emmanuel Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Ickes. Viewing will be held one hour prior to funeral service at the church.
