Funeral services for Henry Milledge Bodiford, Jr., 80, of Aiken, SC will be held two p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with burial in the Blackville Cemetery with Dr. Thomas Terry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent to First Baptist Church of Blackville, P.O. Box 217, Blackville, SC or Blackville Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 365, Blackville, SC 29817. Mr. Bodiford died Wednesday, July 15, 2009.
Born in Barnwell County, he was a son of the late Henry Milledge Bodiford, Sr. and America Grubbs Bodiford. He was a US Army Veteran, member and deacon of Blackville First Baptist Church, the "mayor" of Goat Island and retired from Magnolia Furniture in Williston.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Christie Bell "Kitty" Hartzog Bodiford; daughters, Ann B. and Vic Lancaster of Aiken, Kathy B. and John L. Jr., Fulmer of Chapin, Pat B. Owens of Aiken, Pam and Dickie Ward of Aiken; sisters, Marietta Williams of Camden, Abbie Jean Flowers of Blackville; grandchildren, Christie L. and Bill Palladino, Vic Lancaster, Jr., Henry Lancaster, Libby and Payton Sellers, Tripp Fulmer, Melissa and Hal Owens, Tatum and Jefferson Sturkey, Richie Ward; great grandchildren, Cecelia Ann Palladino, Kennedy and Karsen Sturkey.
