He was the brother to Paul R. Haacke and Helen Jean Lyon. His sister Elizabeth died as a child.
Henry grew up in West Covington and attended St. Ann's grade school and the Covington Latin High School.
Henry was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest o May 30, 1942 by Bishop Howard and said his first Mass at his home parish of St. Ann's on May 31, 1942. He was a faithful Priest for 46 years at the time of his death. Father Haacke was known to be a staunch defender of the Faith and never hesitated to speak up (sometimes loudly ) defending the Church that he loved and served.
Father Haacke loved to fly and co-founded the NAPP (National Associatio of Priest Pilots) in 1964.
He served as Editor of the Messenger for years and serverd many parishes throughout the Diocese.
He was a loving Uncle to his brother Paul's eight children and is dearly missed by them.
