ST. ELMO - Dwain L. "Hack" Austin, 74, of St. Elmo, died 7:25 a.m. Monday (Dec. 9, 1985) in Heritage Home Care Center, St. Elmo.
Services will 2 p.m. Thursday in Kull Funeral Home, St. Elmo, with visitation 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery, rural Beecher City. Memorials: American Diabetes Society or First Church of God, St. Elmo.
Mr. Austin was born in St. Elmo, son of Charles A. and Harriet Austin. He was a retired employee of Richardson Brothers Greenhouse and the U.S. Postal Service, and a member of First Church of God and St. Elmo Fire Department. He married Almeda "Sis" Myers in 1939. She died in 1979.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Randy (Linda Kay) Hawkey of St. Elmo; sister, Mrs. Dwight (Freida) Kerns of Independence, Mo.; one grandchild.
One brother preceded him in death.
