Milo and Emma were blessed with fifteen children. They lived for a time in northeastern Iowa before moving to a farm in Benton County, Minnesota. An infant son, Thomas J. is buried in the Mounds (Elwell) Cemetery in Benton County, Minnesota. The Holroyds later moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan.
While many of the children were still in the home, Milo was killed in a tragic auto accident on his way home from work. As a widow, Emma continued to live in the Kalamazoo area the rest of her life.
