George Rogers Hancock Clark was the third son of William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and Julia Hancock of Fincastle, Virginia. His siblings were: Meriwether Lewis Clark, William Preston Clark and Mary Margaret Clark. He married Eleanor Ann Glasgow on March 30, 1841, in St. Louis, MO, and their children were: Julia Clark, Sarah "Sadie" Leonida Clark, Ellen Glasgow Clark and John O'Fallon Clark.
