U.S. Congressman. Born in Nyack, New York, he graduated from the Charlier Institute, in 1876 and was owner-manager of Democratic newspaper of Nyack, until 1883, when he moved to Pike County, Pennsylvania. There, he engaged in the real estate, lumber,and insurance businesses, plus was school director of Milford and owned the Milford Dispatch Company. 1895, he was elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-fourth Congress, serving until 1900. Not a candidate for re-nomination, he return to New York, engaged in clerical work and was deputy tax commissioner of New York City, from 1907 until his death at age 67 in Brooklyn, New York.
