Author and Novelist-wrote her novels with her husband Meir. They were described as something of a literary oddity-a husband and wife team who signed all their articles, books and reviews with their two names.
Diana was the eldest child of a barrister and pianist. She went to school in Norfolk where her father's family had farmed for generations. She later trained as a librarian.
They met in London where Meir was studying for his LL.B.(Bachelor of Laws.)
They were married at the Seymour Street West London Synagogue on 6th June 1939 after a Civil Marriage at St Pancras Register Office on 29th June 1937.Later in 1939
they set up home in Jerusalem where they changed their surname from Goldstein to Gillon.(they wanted a Hebrew name that would also 'fit in' in Europe and America).Their two sons and daughter were born in Jerusalem. They returned to London in 1948.
One son, Professor Raanan Evelyn Zvi Gillon was born 15th April 1941 and is a medical practitioner of considerable renown, having mention in Who's Who.Their daughter is Dikla Peebles and as at 2011 lives in Rome.
