Theo Knakmuhs, 103, of West Salem, died at 5:38 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at Richland Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem with Rev. Bruce Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Knakmuhs was born Aug. 11, 1895, in Wabash County, the daughter of Charles Fred and Florence Rosella (Seals) Schonert. She married Lester Knakmuhs April 12, 1916, in Edwards County. He preceded her in death April 2, 1977.

She taught at Hibbert School in the West Salem area and was a homemaker. She was a member of Moravian Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Virginia Kinkade, of West Salem; one daughter-in-law, Mary Margaret Knakmuhs, of West Salem; one sister, Bessie Foerster, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, Cynthia Delancy, Mary Ann Knakmuhs, Robert and Ronald Kinkade and Phyllis Brown; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Floyd Knakmuhs; three sisters, Pearl Knakmuhs, Cybil Specht and Rosella Wheelock; a brother, Ellis Schonert; and a grandson, Bruce Wayne Knakmuhs.
