Grand Coteau - Funeral services for Susan Burianek, age 84, will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery in Grand Coteau.
Rev. Benny Reppond will conduct the service.

Susan was a native of Leroy, North Dakota, and long-time resident of Sunset. She passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home.

Susan was a Bank Teller for 27 years at the Bank of Sunset, she was a very devoted employee. She truly enjoyed being with people. Everyone who met her she was no stranger to them. Susan enjoyed playing Bingo, and playing cards with her family and friends, she really loved decorating her home for all the different holidays. She really lived life to the fullest. She was a loving mother, grandmother, grand mother, and mother-in-law. She was rock that keep the family all together.

She is survived by her children; Tamara Burns of Lafayette, and Sharlene Broussard and her husband, Darrel of Sunset, her sisters, Loraine Wilson of State of Washington, and Eunice Smith of Minnesota, two daughter-in-laws Lisa Burns of North Carolina, and Janet Burns of Sunset, five grandchildren; Kate Burns, Kevin Darbonne, Jr., Kristen Menard, Sara Darbonne, Ashely Darbonne, and four great grandchildren; Kortlyn Volkmann, Kain Savoie, Reese Menard, and Thad Menard.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Joseph and Ethel Boyd Houle, her first husband, Paul Burns, and her second husband, James Burianek, and her two sons; Ricky Burns and Dana Burns.
