Death: Jan. 17, 1895

Shares stone with Flora Whitney age 20, & Lydia Ann Whitney age 61. They all three died in 1894. The stone has a flag, 5 pointed star & and bald eagle clutching 2 periscopes. Could this signify military service? Died at age 68. Lots were purchased in 1894. Block 81, graves 7-12. Cemetery records spell his name Troop Whitney. Footstone says "Father."

Throop was a sergeant in Co. B of Wisconsin's First Regiment Heavy Artillery. He entered service at Spring Prairie, Walworth Co., Wis., on Jan. 5, 1864, and served until he was mustered out on Aug. 30, 1865.

ggg grandparents. They were murdered by their SIL, Floras husband Sam Hotelling. Throop is the proper spelling.
