Alice Mary Shaulis, 87, of Cedar City, Utah, formerly of Somerset, died Aug. 15, 2002 at Kolob Regional Nursing Home, Cedar City, Utah. Born Dec. 28, 1914 in Somerset. Daughter of Russell Sipe and Nancy Ellen (Cramer) Beam. Preceded in death by parents; husband Paul Eugene Shaulis who died May 13, 1982; two sisters: Sara Walters and Lillian Smith; three brothers: George E. Beam, Earl R. Beam, and Mesheck Beam. Survived by daughter, Mrs. William E. (Jean) Gosnell of Cedar City, Utah; three grandchildren: Mrs. Michael (Pamela) Wright of Fairbanks, Alaska, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Niegisch of Bow, N.H., and Mrs. Steve (Martha) Politsch of Anchorage, Alaska. Brother of Russell Beam Jr. of Somerset, Jerry Beam of Somerset, and Charles B. Beam of Baltimore, Md. A Lutheran by faith. Retired houseparent of the Hershey School. Also a former cook at the Pa. State Police Academy in Hershey. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, Somerset, with the Rev. Dennis L. Doebler officiating. There will be viewing at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment, Casebeer Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Utah Heritage Hospice, 25 S. Main St., Centerville, Utah, 84014.
