He married Mary Jo Oppelt November 7, 1959. He was a retired employee of the City of San Antonio, Texas where he was a Control Room Operator in the city's Power Plant. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. In 1993, he and his wife moved to Marion County where he was a member and a past president of the Ozark Music Center in Yellville, Arkansas. He enjoyed playing the guitar for the various community gatherings. Survivors include his wife of Yellville, AR; four sons, one of San Antonio, TX, one and his wife of San Antonio, TX, one of Yellville, AR and one and his wife of Yellville, AR; three daughters, one of El Paso,, TX, one and her husband of Leming, TX and one of San Antonio, TX; a sister of San Antonio, TX; two nieces one of Smiley, TX and one of San Antonio, TX; two nephews, one of San Antonio, TX and one of Smiley, TX; 26 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His parents, brother, Walter, and son, Joe William Dromgoole, preceded him in death.
