Mom, it's been a while now, and I still can hardly write about it. The end of an era. It hurts it hurts it hurts. Mom I miss you. It's funny, the things we remember. Mom I want to thank you for so many things. For teaching me to read. For letting me go through "the button box". For letting me brush your hair. For trying to mend my heart when "that boy" broke it. For adoring my daughter. For how you loved Christmas. For making me be proud of myself, simply because I knew YOU were proud of me. For saying some of the things you said, and for not saying some of the things that you didn't. For keeping it all together for us kids. I never recall going hungry. For coming to all the games and watching me cheer, but acting like you weren't watching. For giving us a sense of home and of belonging; those roots will forever run deep. For staying with Daddy for 62 years and loving him still even beyond that. For joining the PTA and going all-out for fundraisers. For laughing they way you did. For being a stellar example of tenacity. For sewing my wedding dress. For not letting me get into some of the trouble that I wanted to get into. For teaching me to be strong. For being "my baby doll" in your later years. For honoring me, by allowing me to be the only one to see you breathe your last. You must have thought I was strong enough to take it (I wasn't). Mom I can't wait to see you again. Kiss Daddy, Sonny, Robert, Damion, and Judy for me. Love, Suzy
