OBITUARY, Connersville [IN] News-Examiner, Monday, January 17, 1966:

Mrs. Arthur Alford

Mrs. Elizabeth C. Alford, 91, of Laurel, died at 10:30 this morning at Dreyer Nursing Home in Brookville.

Born April 18, 1874, in Franklin County to George and Charlotte Goble Croddy, she had lived in Laurel and Franklin County all her life. In March, 1897, she married Arthur Alford who died in 1914.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Zathe Hoople, R. R. 4, Plymouth, Ind., and Mrs. Mildred Lindsay, of Farmland, Ind.; four grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, brother and two sisters preceded her in death.

Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Moster and Sons Mortuary in Laurel with burial in Stipps Hill Cemetery in Franklin County. Friends may call at the mortuary after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
