Rap Musician. A member of the rap musical group, 'Onyx.' The group was formed in 1989 in Queens, New York, with Big DS, Sticky Fingaz, Fredo Starr, and DJ Suave Sonny Caesar, after the four men met while working as barbers. The group began playing locally in clubs, which gained them attention of Run DMC's Jam Master Jay, who signed them to his JMJ Record Label. They released there debut album, 'Bacdafu#up' and it became a platinum-certified hit, thanks to the song, "Slam." That same year the album won Best Rap Album at the Soul Train Awards beating out the likes of Dr. Dre for his rap hit, 'The Chronic.' In 1993 Big DS left the group to pursue other activities, but the group continued without him. In 1995 they relesed the album, 'All We Got Iz Us' and 'Shut 'Em Down' in 1998, but these albums never gained the attention as there first. They also did a remix of there hit, 'Slam' with the group 'Biohazard' for the film, "Judgment Night.' The remaining members went onto other things with Fredo and Sticky appearing in films and television like "Moesha," "Clockers," "Sunset Park," and HBO's "Strapped." In 2002, the group got back together and released the album, 'Bacdafu#up II." On May 22, 2003, Big DS died from complications of cancer.
