Death: Nov. 2, 1917
Newton County

My great uncle Jim McFarland's wife.

Married James Monroe McFarland, February 25, 1911 in Butterfield, Barry County, Missouri. She was age 14 and he was age 26.

Parents were George and Della Miller Bowman, both born in Nebraska.

One of the saddest accidents occurred at the home of James McFarland on Beef Branch Friday, Nov. 2, when Mrs. McFarland, while standing in front of an old-fashioned fireplace, fainted and fell in the fire. No one was there to help her out but her little five year old girl who ran to the nearest neighbor about 200 yards away and told the sad news, (this part of sentence deleted) she died a few hours later. She was 19 years old and leaves a husband and one child. Interment was in Jackson Cemetery.
