Polititian. One of the original founders of Leipsic, Delaware. Served in the Delaware House of Representative from 1812 to 1813. Served in the Delaware State Senate from 1815 to 1819 and was the Speaker of the Senate in 1819. Became the 22nd Governor of Delaware after assuming the term of Governor Henry Molleston upon his death and served from January 18, 1820 to January 16, 1821. Governor Stout was originally buried on his family farm near Leipsic, Delaware and was later reinterred in the Old Presbyterian Cemetery in Dover during the early 1900's. The Old Presbyterian Cemetery is now on the grounds of the Delaware State Museum in Dover, Delaware. (bio by: Russ Pickett)
