Afterwards, he worked for an oil company in Chicago, circa 1920's; then moved to California, 1929-30, operating a gasoline station; and eventually working for Prudential Life Insurance company.
He and Priscilla retired to Clear Lake, CA in their latter years. With their daughter Joan and family visiting, she and Harold enjoyed getting up early to make pancakes for the rest of the family.
