Irene "Meme" Britton *** 1925-2007

Irene "Meme" Britton, 82, of 411 N. Clay Ave., Louisa, KY 41230, died July 11, 2007, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington.

Mrs. Britton was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Manila, Ky., a daughter of the late George Garfield and Lula Salyer Auxier.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Gene Tom Britton.

She was a housewife and member of First Baptist Church of Louisa.

Surviving are her husband, Harold Gene Britton of Louisa; a daughter, Kim (Herb) Lemaster of Louisa; a sister, Ruth Hayes of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Chet Auxier of Red Bush, Ky.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Louisa by Brother Ric Frazier. Burial will be in Pinehill Cemetery in Louisa. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Young Funeral Home in Louisa.
