Fred married Mary Leona Pyle. Their children: William Webber, Ethel Florence (Acridge) Evans, Joseph Earl, Ruby Alice (1913-1915), Fredrick Rolla, Vern Edgar, LeRoy Howard "Roy", Ralph Leonard "Chip", Donald Leon "Don", and Mary Elizabeth (Acridge) Pitt.

Obituary:
Frederick Louis [Fred Lewis] Acridge was born in the [Cherokee Nation] Indian Territory July 29, 1883, and died June 6, 1942 at the age of 58 years, ten months and eight days at his home in Yates Center. He had been ill for more than a year.

He was the son of William Robert and Lucinda Acridge. On December 6, 1905 he was married to Mary Leona Pyle at Oswego [Labette Co, KS]. To this union were born ten children: William of Welda, Kan.; Mrs. Merle [Ethel] of Yates Center; Joseph of Olathe, Kan.; Frederick [Fredrick] Rolla, stationed at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; Vern Edgar, stationed at Camp Roberts, Cal.; Leroy; Ralph; Donald and Mary of Yates Center. One daughter, Ruby Alice, is deceased.

Mr. Acridge came to Kansas with his parents in 1900, and lived in Labette county until 1906 when he moved to Bourbon county where he made his home until 1936. For the past eight years he has resided in Woodson county. He was converted to the Christian faith about two months ago.

Besides his nine living children and his wife, those who survive him are two brothers, Edward Acridge of Wichita and Joseph of Edna; four sisters: Mrs. R. A. Jones of Parson, Mrs. O. E. Shoemaker of Coffeyville, Mrs. Bessie Pyle of Guthrie, Okla., and Mrs. Frena? Hayes of Coffeyville. He also leaves nine grandchildren and many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 10. There was a short service at the Johnson funeral home in Yates Center followed by a longer service at the First Christian church at Fort Scott. Interment was at Evergreen cemetery in the family plot.
