Son of Captain Elijah "Cuthberth" Cutbirth and Annie Odle. Ben married his first-cousin, Sarah Jane Cutbirth on 20 Nov 1878 in Bosque County, Texas.

Together they had the following children:

Breckenridge American (Breckenridge, Tex.)

Services Are Held for B. F. Cutbirth

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 for B. F. Cutbirth, 88, who passed away at his residence, 815 Pecan, early Wednesday morning. The service was at the Kiker Chapel, Rev. Truman Aldredge officiating. Interment was in the Breckenridge Cemetery.

Cutbirth was a native of Valley Mills. His wife died March 18, 1939. He was survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lee Greenhaw, California and Mrs. J. W. Sidwell, Tularosa, N. M. Three sons, George and Alvin of Breckenridge and Otho of Carlsbad, N. M. One sister, Mrs. M. M. Pool, Clifton, Texas. Fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Neal Green, a granddaughter, is well known in Breckenridge.

Pall bearers were Neal Green, Roy Breeding, C. O. Breeding, Lawrence Rodgers, G. W. Funderberg [sic] [Funderburg] and a Mr. Kirk.
