Lester Otto Heinemann, age 87, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2011 at the Homestead Health & Rehabilitation Center in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on December 4, 1923 in Wisner, Nebraska, the son of John & Marie Wieland Heinemann. A resident of Garden City since 1958, Lester had been a farmer, had worked for the ACRA plant and for the Kansas Lottery.

He was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church of Garden City, Kansas.

On June 4, 1944 he married Rita Charlotte LaNoue in Fremont, Nebraska. She survives.

Other Survivors Include: Three Sons, Dave Heinemann of Topeka, Kansas, Ray Heinemann of Garden City, Kansas and Don Heinemann of Colorado Springs, Colorado; One Daughter, Caralea Froese of Guymon, Oklahoma; One Sister, Mildred Rintoul of Hutchinson, Kansas; Twelve Grandchildren and Eleven Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Two Brothers, Harry & L.J. Heinemann and a Step-Brother, Vernon Frahm.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the St. James Lutheran Church in Garden City, Kansas with Pastor Anthony J. Striffler presiding.

Friends may call from 10:00am-8:00pm Wednesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.

Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.

The family requests memorials be given to the Lester Heinemann Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City.
