Captain Larry Fletcher Potts was from Smyrna, Delaware.

He served with Subunit 1, 1st Air-Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III MAF as a Field Artillery Officer during the Vietnam War.

He was declared "Missing In Action" on his birthday, April 7, 1972, when he was flying in an unarmed North American Rockwell Bronco (OV10-A) over South Vietnam when it crashed and he was taken prisoner in the Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam.

He was taking part in the rescue effort of a downed Air Force Pilot.

His body was never recovered and he was declared to be deceased on January 31, 1979.
