DEATH OF MISS ELLEN O’BRIEN
Miss Ellen O’Brien, the oldest Irish resident of this village, died of old age last evening at the residence of her nephew, Murtie O’Brien. Miss O’Brien was for 70 years a resident of Williamsburg and has lived in this village only a short time. She leaves a brother, Dennis O’Brien, and a sister, Mrs. William Crow. The funeral will be held at St. Mary’s church at 9 o’clock to-morrow morning. Northampton Daily Herald 4 Dec 1905

The funeral of Miss Ellen O’Brien was held at St. Mary’s church at 9 o’clock yesterday morning and there was a large attendance. The burial was in the cemetery in this village. Northampton Daily Herald 5 Dec 1905
Ellen had lived in Williamsburg for seventy years, and at the time of her death she was "the oldest Irish resident" in Haydenville. She died at the Main Street home of her nephew, Murtie O'Brien #74286826, also 'leaving a brother, Dennis (# 167721520), and a sister, Mrs. William Crow (Johannah, # 68298349),' per her obituaries, however her brother and sister were already long deceased by 1905.
Her parents were Michael and Mary Joyce O'Brien of Raheendonore, Graiguenamanagh, County Kilkenny, Ireland.
