Robert Minor Wallace

US Congressman. A member of the Democratic Party, he served in the US House of Representatives from Arkansas's 7th district for four terms, from March 1903 until March 1911. After attending local public schools, he graduated from the Arizona Seminary in Arizona, Louisiana in 1876. He then studied law and was admitted to the bar at Little Rock, Arkansas in 1879 and established a law practice in El Dorado, Arkansas. From 1881 to 1882 he served as member of the Arkansas House of Representatives. From 1887 until 1891 he was a US post office inspector and served as prosecuting attorney for the 13th judicial circuit of Arkansas in 1891 and 1892. In 1894 he became an assistant US attorney. In 1902 he ran on the Democratic ticket for Congress and was elected, serving for four consecutive terms. In 1910 he was an unsuccessful candidate for re-nomination and after leaving office in March 1911 he returned to his law practice in Little Rock and Hot Springs, Arkansas and also became a lecturer for the Chautauqua and for the Anti-Saloon League.
