Bessie Marx, 85, West Salem, died Thursday July 10 at the Olney Care Center.

The deceased was born November 5, 1900 in Edwards County, the daughter of Osmon Clodfelter and Mary Busefink. She married Paris E. Marx on April 3, 1924 in West Salem.

Mrs. Marx was a retired school teacher and secretary for Modern Woodmans America Insurance Company. She belonged to the Zion United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Robert of Morris and Dave of Marion, Indiana,; two daughters, Mary Potter of West Salem and Carole Biehl of Urbana; two sisters, Ruth Kortge of West Salem and Mary Knackmuhs of Parkersburg; 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Marx was preceded in death by her husband, Paris, one son Charles Ray, six brothers, Roy, Ben and four infant brothers; two daughters, Juanita Schwarzlose and Lucille Strine; one sister Hulda Lemke; and one grandson, Junior Schwarzlose.

Services were held July 12 at the Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem and were officiated by Chris Tate. Burial was at the Moravian Cemetery.
