Senia, the last of Owen & Charlotte (Belcher) Sizemore's ten children, was born in Mingo Co, WV on September 28, 1896.

Senia's first marriage was to Amos Allen Lowe in White Sulphur Springs, Greenbrier Co, WV on November 20, 1912. They had two children, James and Gladys.

Her second marriage was to Archie Corbert Hoke in 1919. They had one son, Clyde.

On Feb. 25, 1920,
Senia & Archie C. Hoke, both age 22, were renting a home on Jerry's Run in Dunlap Precinct, Alleghany Co, VA near her parents. Archie was employed at the local saw mill as a laborer. Senia's two children by her first husband, William Low, were living with them. They were Gladice N. & James T. Lowe, ages 5 & 3 years & 7 months.

Archie died sometime after the above census was taken. Senia married his brother, William Christopher Hoke, in Lewisburg, Greenbrier Co, WV on August 7, 1924. (Her sister, Cosby, was married to Archie and William's brother, John Hoke. They were sons of Daniel C. & Mary Jane (Sams) Hoke.)

On January 5, 1917, William, single, registered in the WWI draft. His name was shown as Willie Christopher Columbus Hoke. He was 22 years old & worked on the farm of his father, Daniel Hoke, in Alleghany Station, VA. His physical description was shown as tall & slender, gray eyes and dark brown hair. He was called to duty and served his country.

William helped raise Archie's son, Clyde, and two other children from Senia's first marriage, Gladys and James Thurmond Lowe.

ON MAY 10, 1940,
Senia & Willie Hoke, ages 41 & 48, owned a farm valued at $800 in Boiling Spring Magisterial District, Alleghany Co, VA. He supported them by farming.

William, age 46, and Senia were living on their farm in Alleghany Co, VA when he was required to register for the WWII draft. He gave the name of Roy Furry in Alleghany as someone who would always know his address.

William died on April 01, 1952, and was buried in Hoke Cemetery.

Senia Sizemore Lowe Hoke, 81, of 427 Bennett St., White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, formerly of Covington, Virginia, died Tuesday, January 24 in the Alleghany Regional Hospital, Emmett Division.

She was born September 28, 1896, in Mingo County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Owen Sizemore and Charlotte Belcher Sizemore. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Hoke, in 1952.

She is survived by two sons, James T. Lowe, Route 4, Covington; and Clyde V. Hoke, Orlando, Florida; one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Rucker, White Sulphur Springs; one brother, Calvin Sizemore, Clifton Forge; eight grand-children and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Wild Meadow Baptist Church.

The funeral service was held on Thursday, January 26 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Emmitt W. Eccard, Jr., officiating. Interment was in Hoke Cemetery, Ogles Creek.

Active pallbearers were Pete Lewis, Bob Autrie, Paul Lewis Wright, Lonnie Wade, Charles Master, Frank Sizemore and Toby Blankenship."
