He was a retired farmer and member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Mary Gentry; siblings, Wilbur, Ercel, Haskell, Dale, and Billy Hill Gentry, Evalena King, and Valeda Owen.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, one sister, six grandchildren, his caregivers, his niece and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel United Methodist Church with burial in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
