William Peters, was born in 1854, and educated in Gruenwald, Germany, where as a young man he was employed at the Krupp Arms Factory. He was also a shoemaker and carver of wooden shoes.
In 1884, when he was thirty years old, he came to America with his father and settled at Forest Junction, Wis. Johanna Emmers, was born in Sheboygan Falls on Aug. 29, 1865. She moved to Forest Junction with her parents at age 6. In 1891 she married William Peters. Shortly after their marriage they moved to a wild tract of land north of the village of Chili, Clark County, Wis., purchased from the Necedah Land Co. They raised six children and lived there all of their lives.
