March 14, 2001 - Age 79, departed this life on March 9, 2001. Preceded in death by his adored wife, Stella Gonzales. Survived by his loving children, Anthony, Judy, Paula, Susan and Patrick; grandchildren, Regie, Eric, Sergio, Mario and Crystal; brother, Arthur; and sister, Eva; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Dad was an independent soul of great strength and spirit with an ornery streak a mile long. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gambling especially when he held all the cards.
He served in the armed forces from 1940-1945, and retired from CF&I in 1983. He was a self-taught man who taught us many valuable lessons about life and never hesitated to help others when needed. He was a good husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandpa and friend who made the most of his life without complaints. Our time with him was too short and he will be sadly missed. The family will receive friends at the family home, 2204 E. 12th Street. A private family viewing was held at the funeral home and a private inurnment will take place at a later date. We love you Dad. You will always be with us.
