The many friends and loved one of Thompson Barnes were greatly shocked on the 6th of April 1906, at six o'clock p.m., when the anouncement was made that he had been instantly killed at the Littell crossing.

He was the son of C. W. Barnes and was nearing his 53rd birthday, which was the 10th of April.

He leaves a devoted wife, seven noble sons, Chester, Clarence, George, Clay, Roy, Bryan, Willis, and one daughter, Hattie.

Funeral services were conducted at the Primitive Baptist Church at Williamstown. Burial was in Williamstown Cemetery.
