Nina was almost 50 when she died at the family home in Lane, Oklahoma. She had oral cancer for several years, and suffered terribly with it until her death. Her husband was George F. Markham and they had three daughters. Sallie Mae, Gladys Adeline, and Dorothy Louise. Also had two sister, Mrs Ellen Evans Varner, and Mary Evans Markham. Her sister Mary married Nina's husband's brother Jonah Markham. So there children were double cousins.
