Near Shiloh, Carroll county, Sept. 23, 1885, Lula Estelle, daughter of Rev. J. W. and M. J. Jones, aged 17 years. She embraced religion in Jul, 1879. Her life was that of Christian, walking in daily communication with her Savior. So she was ready to go when the summons came, to meet her sister Mattie, who had preceded her to the better land only three weeks. How dark the day to Brother and Sister Jones, Lula and Mattie both taken in so short a time. "What I do thou knowest not now." One family above, beneath, seven are gone, five remain. How sweet it will be for parents and children all to meet where the flowers never fade, and where death will never rob us of our loved ones. We preached her funeral to a large and sympathizing congregation, and laid her beside her sister at Shiloh, to await the resurrection. W. J. House
