Father of Dill resident dies
Jessie G. French, 82, father of a Dill City man, died in Sayre Memorial Hospital Saturday, Nov .7.
He was born in Hill County, Texas, October 28, 1899. He was married to Lola B. Roberts on July 22, 1923. They resided in Kansas until 1928 when they moved to Sweetwater, Oklahoma.
He was a veteran of U.S. Navy service in World War l. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
French was a member of the Sweetwater First Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Sweetwater First Baptist Church with Rev. C.R. Tucker officiating. Burial was in the Mulberry Cemetery.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Lola French; one daughter, Mrs. Lola Bell Elliott of Holmes, N.M.; three sons, Alva French of Pampa, Texas, Ray French of Dill City and Ralph French of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Julius French; one sister Mrs. Irene Jackson; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
