He came as a sailor twice and then returned a third time. After the battle at WIlliamsburg in 1783 little is known about Antoine. He did return to America and lived in Fountain County, Indiana, becoming a ward of the county in 1846.
He died in 1855 and was buried two miles east of Covington with Captain Isaac Cook and William Ward in Ward Cemetery. In 1931, the DAR honored him with a stone place in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
