OBITUARY
James S. Cole was born September 14, 1839, and dies April 6, 1912, aged 72 years 6 months 22 days.
He was married to Mary C. Myers August 12, 1869.
To this union eleven children were born. The widow and four children--Fred, John and Carl Cole, and Mrs. Pearl Knight, still survive and with two brothers, John
Cole and Eli Craft, of Montezuma, and Mrs. Martha Farner and Miss Hannah Craft, mourn his death.
Through his sickness he spoke often of death. That he was anxious to go and had made his peace with God.
The early years of James Cole, from childhood to manhood, was spent in Parke county. After his marriage he moved in the neighborhood of West Union, and he and his wife were converted to the Christian faith and uni-
ted with the M. E. church at Linebarger Chapel, and were faithful church attendants.

The funeral service was held at the home in the vicinity of Hillsdale and Highland at 2:30 p. m., Easter; a memorable day and not soon to be forgotten occasion. The above named relatives were present, except Mrs.
Martha Farner and one son, Fred who is in the regular army, stationed at San Francisco.
Mrs. Cole's only brother, George Myers, living four miles north of Dana, Ind. and wife were present. Also Abram Farner of Indianapolis. A large number of friends in the community, present, was an expression of
respect and true sympathy. Funeral service was conducted by G. H. Linebarger. Burial in the Highland cemetery. G. H. L.
