Richard Clifton Walker, 79, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina died Saturday, May 14, 2005 at VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC.

He was born November 23, 1925, in Caldwell County, NC to the late Carl Lane Walker and Maggie Allen Walker.

Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II. After leaving the Navy, Richard went to school on the GI Bill and earned his airplane pilot's license.

Richard married Ethel Kiziah on June 25, 1949. She is the daughter of the late Troy William Kiziah and L. Ruth Lanier Kiziah. Richard and Ethel made their home in Hickory, NC where he worked at the Hickory Sheet Metal Company as a heating and airconditioning technician. After retirement they moved to North Myrtle Beach, SC where they enjoyed many happy years in the home they built.

Richard enjoyed woodworking and was an avid fisherman serving as pier master at the Cherry Grove Pier. He was also an artist, painting lovely pictures for their home.
